What are the causes of Hypertension?

Most people (almost 90%) with hypertension have no known cause for the disease. In the very small minority, a cause can be found. These causes include estrogen therapy, narrowing of the renal arteries, adrenal tumors, an overactive thyroid, some drugs, and inflammatory diseases of the blood vessels. Other risk include stress, nutrition, obesity, increasing age, and exercise. The incidence among African-Americans is 40%.

Tip of the week

Isaiah 6:1,5 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord.... So I said "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts."

Purpose for one’s life can only be clearly understood when there is a vision of God, and a vision of self. With the vision of God, the authenticity of the cause is verified, the power to accomplish God’s purpose is realized, and propelling passion is provoked. Self is subjugated as it’s wretchedness is realized, and only God’s purpose radiates through humanity.
